Howie PetersThank you for signing up with the 2019 Dat Dads' Club Howie Peters Memorial Fishing Rodeo.  This year our beneficiaries are 5 year old Wyatt Baptiste and 16 year old Mya Theriot.

As always, Dat Dads’ Club does not use event funds for any administrative expenses and our goal is to provide 100% of the money from the event to the beneficiaries.  Be sure to download and fill out the Hold Harmless Agreement.  Your registration is not complete without this form.  Forms will be available at the Captains Meeting.  Download a copy of the Rodeo Rules.

DIVISIONS

The rodeo site will be Somme’s Marine, 4298 Hwy 90 E, Des Allemands, LA. On-site registration will begin at 6:00am on March 16, 2019 and blast off will be at safe light. On-site registration will end at 10:00am. Boaters are encouraged to launch at Somme’s, but it is not required.

The “Captains Meeting” is the official rodeo meeting that lays out the do’s and don’ts of the rodeo. Attendance is strongly encouraged at this meeting and at least one person from every team should attend. This year the Captains Meeting location will be announced on March 1st, 2019, via email.

ADULTS

BOAT DIVISION

BASS

Each team will be permitted to weigh 5 (five) BASS over 12” for TOTAL WEIGHT. The highest weight will be winner. In case of TIE, the first fish weighed will be considered winner.  First place, Second place and Third place teams will win plaques.  NO cash prizes will be awarded.

REDFISH

Each team will be permitted to weigh 2 (two) REDFISH in the slot between 16” and 27” for TOTAL WEIGHT. Fish will be measured on a DAT DADS’ CLUB certified board with pinched tails, per LDWF rules. The highest weight will be winner. In case of TIE, the first fish weighed will be considered winner. First place, Second place and Third place teams will win plaques. NO cash prizes will be awarded.  Over slot fish will not be weighed or accepted.

CATFISH

Each team will be permitted to weigh 1 (one) CATFISH over 12” for TOTAL WEIGHT. The highest weight will be winner. In case of TIE, the first fish weighed will be considered winner. First place, Second place and Third place teams will win plaques. NO cash prizes will be awarded.

KAYAK DIVSION

BASS

Each person will be permitted to weigh 5 (five) BASS over 12” for TOTAL WEIGHT. The highest weight will be winner. In case of TIE, the first fish weighed will be considered winner. First place, Second place and Third place will win plaques.  NO cash prizes will be awarded.

KIDS

The kids division will be wide open. We will allow the kids to weigh 5 (five) fish. Any 5 legal fish they keep, they will be able to weigh in. The highest weight will be winner. In case of TIE, the first fish weighed will be considered winner. First place and Second place will win plaques. Third place will receive a t-shirt.  NO cash prizes will be awarded.  16 AND UNDER ONLY.


Entry Fee:

$50 per boat (2-Adults)

(Kids 15 and under entered free and do not count towards the 2-Adult boat limit.  16 and older need a LDWF license and count as Adults for fishing)

$25 per Kayak (1 angler)

 

What You Will Receive:

· Two DDC fishing towel per boat.

· Plate lunch of fried fish and white beans.

· Ability to weigh fish in appropriate category.

The weigh in will be open to the public.  Food, desserts and soft drinks will be sold.  Beer will be available to participants.  

Beginning this year, our tournament will be known as the HOWIE PETERS MEMORIAL FISHING RODEO.

Howie served the citizens of Louisiana for  45 years as a prosecutor on both the state and federal levels with the last 22 years as an Assistant District Attorney in St. Charles Parish.  Howie was instrumental in the early formation of the group that was to form Dat Dads’ Club. He will be sorely missed by friends and family.

Dat Dads’ Club of Luling is a licensed Louisiana 501c3 non-profit.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by the IRS.
